Hosted by Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT) and Otago Polytechnic

SUSTAINABILITY

The 2009 Conference is being held in New Zealand with 2 main locations, Christchurch and Queenstown.  The main sessions in Christchurch will be held in the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute
Of Technology and the sessions in Queenstown will be based in the Heritage Hotel.

 

Themes:


1. Leadership for sustainability:

The role of PIN institutions in influencing and educating our communities to engage in sustainable development and to live more sustainably.

2. Walking the talk – organisational sustainability:

How PIN members are developing/could develop more sustainable organisations.

3. Education for sustainability:

Curricula to educate practitioners in our trade and professions in sustainable practice.

2.00pm PIN Business Meeting

19.00 Closing Dinner – Skyline Gondola

Wednesday 8 April

All day recreational options – Golf at Millbrook, Shotover or Dart River Jet Boating, Bungy Jumping , flight into Milford, Kingston Flyer, Guided day walks, Rafting - activities can be pre-booked and paid for the night before with the hotel concierge.

 

Costs

1. Conference costs
            Delegate fee  $ 1500 (NZ)    ( excludes accommodation)
            Companion fee  $ 1000 (NZ)       Includes all dinners, transport to Queenstown and the all day trip to Cromwell, Wanaka and Cardrona. Excludes accommodation and partner programme activities.

2. Accommodation Delegates to make own arrangements:

Hotel bookings and payment can be made direct by emailing jskidmore@orbit.co.nz  (Quote ref. no. 179261 and the cut off date for bookings is 27.02.09 ) As there are a variety and limited numbers of some suites and rooms available bookings will be made in the order they are received.
Hotel rates, quoted in NZ dollars, include government service tax (GST)

Companion programme

A separate companions’ programme has been prepared that includes a variety of activities that can be booked for and paid for the previous day.  For example - wine trails, harbour/wildlife cruises, half day trip to historic Arrowtown, lake side cycling, shopping, etc.
